PIPE (Point of Injection Prevention) fittings are a basic requirement for any pipeline system. An adapter or fitting is utilized in pipe networks to connect segments of pipe or tubing, adjust to varying shapes or sizes, and for various other applications including regulating liquid flow. PIPE fitting consists of flexible hose with seal that is molded to the inner side of the pipe. A plastic sleeve or liner is then employed over the fitting to ensure the utmost in sealing and prevent leaks and other damage to the pipe system.
There are various types of PIPE fittings that have been designed to serve various industrial and commercial applications. There are flexible types such as Flex Fit PVC, Snap Fit PVC, Flexible Copper tube fittings, Threaded End fitting, Tee fitting, Quickfit fittings, etc. To meet different application requirements, there are also special designs such as Cold Formatted, Formica, etc. Cold formatted are widely used for fixing pipeline in cold places such as mines and chemical plants.
Cold formed piping can be formed into different thicknesses depending upon the application needed. These pipes are ideal for branch connections where the diameter needs to be small. They can also be made into different lengths and diameters to suit different construction needs. Tee fitting are the two most common PIPE fittings used for household and commercial applications. Tee fitting is commonly used for domestic and commercial plumbing system for installing faucets, valves, water closets, sewage disposal, vent fans and heaters, etc.
Threaded caps are also widely used for pipe fittings. The threads of these caps are bent into spiraling patterns and are then threaded onto pipe joints for effective tightening. Threaded caps are also available as pre-manufactured models and as customized models to suit individual client needs. Most of these caps have double insulation which helps in reducing freezing problems. Nylon caps are also very popular due to their superior tight seal and high durability.
PIPE fittings are used to connect both cold and hot forming systems of water pipes. PIPE adaptors are also widely used for connecting copper tubing and plastic pipes. These fittings are available in different diameters and thread counts for flexible connections. PIPE adaptors are used for connection of gas and oil pipelines as well. For connecting water and electrical systems, PIPE adaptors are also widely used.
For fluid transportation and cooling purposes, long distance PIPE fittings are commonly used. There are two types of LVRB pipe fittings - standard and zero-degree bend. Long distance pipe fittings are used for securing liquids in storage tanks, desuperheaters, cooled water cylinders and other water-related applications. To carry huge quantities of fluid or to decrease the pressure drop in critical lines, long radius bend systems are also widely used. The standard LVRB is less expensive than the zero degree bend system and thus ideal for economical fluid transportation.
